Gavin is equal parts entrepreneur, creative technologist and design thinker - building and leading teams to bring next-generation products, experiences and ventures to life.
A 20-year digital veteran with a deep understanding of emerging technologies, product and experience design, Gavin is currently head of the Innovation & Ventures team at Colenso BBDO – one of the most recognised and awarded creative companies in the world. Since joining in 2015, he’s established the innovation and venture design practice – an Agile unit blending technology, design and business strategy to unlock new, lasting value for companies and their customers.
Before joining Colenso, Gavin opened the New York office of Made by Many, a digital innovation design studio that helps companies like the BBC, Skype, TED, Contagious and The Gap innovate like start-ups. Gavin was also brand strategy lead at Twitter, working with companies including American Express, Samsung, ESPN, Mercedes-Benz, Proctor & Gamble and HBO to push the platform’s boundaries and connect with consumers in new ways.
Previously, Gavin worked at legendary brand consultancy, Wolff Olins and opened the New York office of renowned digital agency, AKQA where he was instrumental in creating award-winning work for the world’s most recognized brands including Coca-Cola, Nike, Xbox, McDonald’s and Smirnoff.
Gavin is also a start-up founder, advisor and investor, currently guiding a handful of early-stage and established organisations.
